Fresh off his world-record 1:49 win at Dover Downs April 2, Gold Dust Beach won the $42,000 Open Pace at the Meadowlands Saturday night with a 1:49.4 effort. Driven by David Miller, Gold Dust Beach left for the lead and then re-took the top at the :26.4 quarter, going on to a :53.3 half and 1:21.3 three-quarters, before staying game to the wire and holding off runner-up Y Knot by a head. Atomic Ideal rallied late to finish a half length back in third.

Joe Holloway trains Gold Dust Beach, who notched his fourth win of the year in 10 starts. The 5-year-old son of Jenna's Beach Boy is owned by Lee and Linda Devisser.
