Graceful Touch, one of the most prolific trotting mares of modern time, gave birth to a colt by Lucky Chucky at Hunterton Farm in Paris, Ky., outside of Lexington on Tuesday night. The mare and foal are owned by Jean-Pierre Barjon of France, who bought Graceful Touch for $560,000 from last fall's Perretti Farms dispersal in Harrisburg.
"She's a wonderful mare. She foaled at 9:15 last night, so we got to bed early," quipped Hunterton's Steve Stewart. "Seriously, both mare and foal are fine and with our weather they will be outside. It's like the end of March in central Kentucky."
Graceful Touch, a 12-year-old daughter of Pine Chip, has already produced Hambletonian champion Muscle Massive and Merrie Annabelle winner Thatsnotmyname along with the fast 2 year old Muscle Mass.
