Grain Of Truth wins again at Pocono

For the second time in three outings at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, Ray Schnittker came up the inside with Grain Of Truth to emerge victorious in the $28,000 open handicap trot Tuesday (April 20).

Leaving from the five post in the seven-horse field, Grain Of Truth was quickly taken to the front, getting to the open split in 27.2 before giving way to Celebrity Playboy and Jim Morrill Jr. Celebrity Play got to the half way mark in the race with a 57.2 time and three quarters in 1:25.4 with Grain Of Truth a close second.

The two trotters battled down the stretch with Schnittker taking to the inside to win by three-quarters of a length. Third went to Salutation Hanover (Matt Kakaley).Race favorite Impressive Earl (George Napolitano Jr.) finished some 40 lengths behind the winner.

In his three starts in 2010 at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, Grain Of Truth now has two wins and a second-place finish. The nine-year-old Self Possessed gelding also came up the inside to win by a nose over Vivid Photo on April 6.

Through 10 races, Schnittker had three training and driving wins.(Pocono)
