Green Day went wire to wire in a Monticello Raceway track record of 1:57.1 and captured the $338,000 Nevele Pride final for 3-year-old trotting colts and geldings Monday afternoon. The purse is the richest in Monticello history. With Cat Manzi in the bike, Green Day shot out from post seven and grabbed the lead as 4 to 5 favorite Mythical Lindy went on a break behind the stating gate. Manfinity and George Brennan dropped into the pocket and Stephane Bouchard settled Hitwiththeladies third, and the order never changed. Green Day cut fraction of :28.3, :58.4 and 1:28.2 en route to his sixth triumph of the year in nine starts, and his third straight from post seven. The gelded son of Enjoy Lavec is owned by Trillium Racing Stable and trained by Jim Raymer. Click for the free PedigreeGuru.com catalog-style pedigree.
