Gregory wins 2 in return

Return Home
April 17, 2005 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Jeff Gregory, making his first appearance since being hurt in a race accident Jan. 14, wasted no time finding the winner's circle Saturday night at Yonkers Raceway. Gregory had a winning drive in his first of seven starts, making it back to the winner's circle with a horse appropriately named Back O Benachie N.

Gregory directed the 13-year-old gelding to a 2:05.3 victory over 1 1/16 miles for trainer Matthew Medeiros. He later drove the Tim Case-trained Kurt Rustler to a 2:03.3 win over the added distance.

Overall, Gregory had two wins, one second, three fourths and a sixth-place finish in his return after breaking his hip in a race spill at Freehold in January.
