Jeff Gural told harnessracing.com Friday afternoon that a meeting held earlier in the day with major investors in his plan to lease the Meadowlands Racetrack from the state of New Jersey “went well.” A March 31 deadline imposed by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has been extended two weeks as Gural finishes the final touches on financing and continues negotiations with union leaders. “The meeting went well on Friday and we are continuing to negotiate with the unions,” Gural wrote in an e-mail, a day after he addressed those gathered for “The Gaming Industry in New Jersey, Present and Future,” at Rutgers University.
