Jeff Gural, chairman of the New Meadowlands Racetrack, shed a little more light on the track's big increase in business this year when he was interviewed by Mike Schneider of NJ Today. "I met some big gamblers who agreed to bet on our product," Gural told Schneider, adding that he gave them a better rebate, which is a standard perk for big customers at casinos and many racetracks.
Gural also spoke about gaming in New Jersey, and when asked his biggest surprise about running the Meadowlands he said, "that you do better in the winter than the summer."
