The Hambletonian Parade in Rutherford, N.J., has reportedly been canceled after having been held the past six years in conjunction with the trotting classic held at the Meadowlands. Reports indicate that the parade was canceled by Meadowlands officials for financial reasons.
A spokesman for the parade's co-sponsor, Rutherford Downtown Partnership, was quoted as saying that the track has decided to "(reconfigure) their priorities." The parade consisted of live music, antique cars, marching bands and horses down Park Avenue in Rutherford.
