Vivid Photo is back on track and preparing to compete in the Classic Series. He won a qualifier at The Meadows Tuesday morning in 1:59.1, with a :28.1 third quarter and a :30.3 final panel.
“That’s where we wanted to be,” said trainer-driver Roger Hammer of Vivid Photo’s time. “We didn’t get to train him last week because of the weather. We’ll probably go in another qualifier or two, hopefully we’ll get to go in 1:57 or so, and then he’ll make his first start in the Classic Series.”
Last year Vivid Photo earned $607,100 and turned in a 1:50.2 record-setting mile over the one-turn Colonial Downs mile track. The 5-year-old son of SJ’s Photo has career earnings of $2.1 million, with almost $1.5 of that amount coming in his 3-year-old season, when he captured the Hambletonian.
