The Mohawk race office has assembled a stellar card of dashes set for this Saturday evening, Maple Leaf Trot night at the seven-eighths mile Campbellville oval. In addition to the 55th installment of the $877,500(C) Maple Leaf Trot, Glidemaster, the 2006 Hambletonian champion trained by Blair Burgess, will be making his first start back since lowering the stakes and track record at the Meadowlands on Aug. 5.

Over $1.87 million(C) in purses will be up for grabs during the 13-race program, which kicks off with a 7:20 p.m. (ET) first race post time. Eight of the races on the card are of the stakes variety, and there is also a nine-horse 4-year-old Open Pace and a nine-horse Preferred Pace.

The Maple Leaf Trot has been carded as the seventh race (9:25 p.m.) and will, among others, be highlighted by elimination winners Elegant Man and Sand Vic, leaving from posts two and three, respectively. Peaceful Way, the lone mare in the field who is the undisputed Queen of the elder trotting ranks, finished second in her elim, but lucked out in the draw and will start from the rail.

Glidemaster will take to the track in the second (7:40 p.m.) of two $130,000(C) divisions of the Simcoe Stakes for 3-year-old trotters. The two divisions have been carded as the first and second races on the program, and Glidemaster has drawn the rail against 2005 O'Brien Award recipient Was It A Dream and Trond Smedshammer trainee Blue Mac Lad, who hasn't raced since finishing third to Glidemaster in the Hambletonian.

Two $135,000(C) divisions of the Simcoe Stakes for 3-year-old pacing colts have been carded as races three (8:01 p.m.) and 10 (10:28 p.m.), and the latter promises to be something to see. Confederation Cup winner Armbro Deuce, Nat Christie victor Armbro Damien and Meadowlands Pace elim winner Perfect Union will lock up against the multiple stakes winning Doonbeg and Mr. Feelgood, among others, in that second split.

Three $107,000(C) divisions of the Champlain Stakes for 2-year-old pacers will also be on tap, and the eight-horse fields have been carded as races four (8:22 p.m.), six (9:04 p.m.) and 12 (11:09 p.m.). (WEG)
