Spirit  Of The Day, a 4-year-old half sister to Yonkers Trot favorite Hard Livin, won Sweden's prestigious Sprinter Championship for mares on Friday night at the Halmstad track, capturing the one-mile race with a 1:55.4 effort.

Spirit Of The Day is owned, trained and driven by Tom Horpestad, who bought the mare as a yearling from breeder Brittany Farms at the Lexington Selected Sale. He paid $20,000 for the daughter of Amigo Hall-Affinity.

In addition to Hard Livin, Affinity has also produced Photo Maxx 1:53.4 ($316,900). Affinity hails from a great trotting family. Her third dam is the great Panty Raid.
