Harness Eye's Giwner goes for the Big M Friday trifecta

January 22, 2010 Send To A Friend  | Print View

They say all good things come in three, and after two hugely successful Friday nights handicapping the races at the Meadowlands, Harness Eye editor Derick Giwner goes for the trifecta on Jan. 22. Giwner, whose picks are now available by clicking the Harness Eye icon located midway down the home page of harnessracing.com, had seven winners on Jan. 8, and then topped that with an eight-winner night on Jan. 15. Seven…eight…does that mean he’s got a nine-win night up his sleeve?

Included among Giwner’s eight-win binge on Jan. 15 was the 9-1 Thanks For Stoppin, who rewarded his backers with a $20.60 win payoff. His other winners were: On The Glass ($6.80); Likeabatoutahell ($5.80); Jaavos Boy ($4.80); John Pauls Legacy ($4.60); Magicmaker Hanover ($4); Majestic Jackpot ($3.40); and Real Joke ($2.20). He also had—in Dave Weaver's TVG terms—three “ice-cold” exactas that returned $60.20, $30.60 and $13.60.

The weekend races at the Big M are tough enough to handicap, and Giwner appears to have found the key. Although track handicapper Dave Brower has his selections available on the Meadowlands website, the keen handicapping “eye” of Harness Eye’s Giwner will give even more help to a bettor—whether a novice or an experienced player. Any extra insight that could result in a profit at the windows—how can you turn that down? Especially when it costs nothing.

So scroll down the home page of harnessracing.com, click on Harness Eye, and read Giwner’s take on the weekend races at the Meadowlands.
