Harrah's Chester to host 2009 Fall Final Four

After being contested this decade at either the Meadowlands, Mohawk or Woodbine, the 2009 Fall Final Four for 2 year olds will be at Harrah’s Chester in Pennsylvania, with the finals split over two weekends, albeit several weeks earlier than in the past.

 

Eliminations for the $575,000(est.) Valley Victory for 2-year-old colt trotters and the $490,000(est.) Goldsmith Maid for 2-year-old filly trotters will be held Sunday, Aug. 30, with the finals scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 6. Eliminations for the $650,000(est.) Governor’s Cup for 2-year-old colt pacers and the $475,000(est.) Three Diamonds for 2-year-old filly pacers will be held Sunday, Sept. 13, with the finals scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 20.

 

The races were first introduced at Garden State Park in 1990, and when that track closed in 2000 they were shifted to the Meadowlands for the 2001-02 seasons. Mohawk hosted the rich races for freshmen in 2003. They returned to the Big M in 2004 and then alternated years with Woodbine, which hosted the contests in 2007 and 2008.
