Martin Scharf's The Federalist ($4.60, Tony Morgan) earned a 1:57.2 win in the $20,000 Junior Open Trot Wednesday at Harrington Raceway. The 6-year-old Muscles Yankee gelding overcame post seven and overpowered pacesetter Adam Gram late for the two length win over Vicki Gram, who got up for second. Adam Gram held third. The Federalist is trained by Josh Green and surpassed the $300,000 earnings mark with his 26th career win. Driver Ross Wolfenden won four races on the program. (Harrington)
