June 14, 2007 Send To A Friend  | Print View

M & M Harness Racing and Pat LaChance's Winbak Red ($10, Eddie Davis Jr.) became the first trotter at the 2007 Harrington meet to win six races, capturing the $20,300 Open Trot Wednesday in 1:58.

The 4-year-old Muscles Yankee gelding assumed command near the quarter-mile from Racsan Jenny and set fractions of :29.4, :59.1 and 1:28. He held off a hard-charging Racsan Jenny to the wire for the win. Broke As Usual A was third.

"Red" is trained by Richard Ringler and is now six-for-seven this year at Harrington. It was the biggest win yet in his young career as his lifetime bankroll reached nearly $65,000. (Harrington)
