Hava Kadabra, whose 2013 campaign began with a disappearing act — and some tough post positions — rediscovered the magic Tuesday at The Meadows with a convincing victory in the $18,000 Preferred Trot. Hava Kadabra banked $180,579 last year at 5 yet began this season with three straight losses, despite adding Lasix for two of those starts. But he won a Winners Over event last week and was up to his old tricks on Tuesday, making a quarter-pole to the lead for Dave Palone and scoring in 1:56.2 over a sloppy surface. TSM Photo Bugger was second, 3/4 lengths back, while Tamarind rallied for show. Ron Burke trains the Kadabra-Armbro Vixen gelding, who soared over $400,000 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Yannick Gingras. Palone drove four winners, including three for Burke, on the 16-race card. (The Meadows)
