Peter Tritton's Ball Gown A ($3, Ross Wolfenden) held off a host of challengers to the wire for a 1:53.2 win in the featured $16,500 Mares Open at Harrington Raceway Tuesday. The 6-year-old Presidential Ball mare improved to a perfect two for two in the States for owner-trainer Tritton. Wolfenden sent her to the lead from post three where she was never headed until Hopefull N (Brandon Givens) and Ireneonthemove (Tim Curtin) charged home towards the wire and came up just short. Hopefull N was second, while Ireneonthemove took the show money. Tritton's three entries all won on the card, including Paul McDougall and WJ McDougall Racing's Nidya A ($8, Wolfenden) in the Junior Open. Cavalli Pazzi Stables Casino Bus ($34.80, Givens) earned her third win of the meet in the remaining Junior Open division.
Tetrick and Wolfenden each won five races on the card. (Harrington)
