Hawk banned for life

At a meeting of the Ohio Racing Commission Thursday, driver Dave Hawk has reportedly accepted a lifetime suspension as a result of charges he wagered on horses other than the ones he drove in several races.



Hawk was suspended in July after refusing to surrender bank and telephone records to state investigators. He did not attend Thursday's meeting but admitted his guilt, agreed to pay costs associated with his appeal to the Commission, and agreed to pursue no further action against the Commission in regard to his lifetime ban.
