Three Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) events were contested Wednesday for 3-year-old pacing colts at Harrington Raceway with Teague Inc.'s Big Heart ($2.40, Jim Morand, 1:54.4) and Joe and Tina Seekman and L&L Devisser Inc.'s Martiniwitholives ($2.80, Ross Wolfenden, 1:54.4) each winning their respective divisions in identical times and Gateway Stable's Badlands Bigboy ($9.60, Brandon Givens) taking the remaining split in 1:56.2.
"'Heart" and "Olives" each won for the second consecutive week, sweeping their elims. The top eight point-getters will return to compete in a $100,000 final on Governor's Day during the Delaware State Fair on July 24.
In the $21,000 Junior Open Trot, 7-year-old Valley Victor mare Vicki Gram ($8, Art Stafford Jr.) notched her fifth win of the year and in track record fashion, 1:56.2. The mark was a new record for aged trotting mares. Art Stafford owns and trains Vicki Gram, who made her 100th career start Wednesday, and earned her 20th lifetime win as she bested the boys, including the Federalist and Jake's Nordic, who rounded out the trifecta.
