HHI names award winners

Harness Horsemen International has announced the winners of its major awards for 2005.



Jim Whelan, the president of the Ontario Harness Horse Association was named the winner of the Man of the Year Award; the Appreciation Award will go to Tom Winebrener, president of the Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners' Association; the Clyde Hirt Memorial Media Award will be presented to Bob "Hollywood" Heyden, television host and statistician for the Meadowlands Racetrack; and the Harness Horsemen International Scholarship Award winner, in the amount of $4,000, is Ryan J. O'Mara of Gainesville, Florida. (HHI)
