HHYF scholarship winners

The Harness Horse Youth Foundation is pleased to announce its scholarship recipients for 2006, with Ariana Peluso from White Lake, New York the recipient of the $15,000 Gallo Blue Chip Scholarship. Peluso is currently studying animal science at Cornell University and hopes to become an equine veterinarian. She will receive her check in conjunction with a celebratory dinner hosted by scholarship sponsor Martin Scharf at the Meadowlands on Dec. 2.

The $2,500 Curt Greene Memorial Scholarship was given to Natalie Graham of Lynden, Ontario. Graham is a freshman at University of Guelph and, like Peluso, is pursuing a degree in veterinary medicine.

Matthew Howard, Michael Coyle, and James Waddilove each received scholarships named in memory of Vincent Abate. Howard, who received a $5,000 scholarship, is attending Rutgers University and majoring in business. Coyle, also enrolled at Rutgers University and studying engineering, received $1,000. Waddilove received a $1,000 scholarship. He is attending Wilkes University and studying criminal justice. Hillview Enterprises sponsors the Abate Memorial Scholarship. (HHYF)
