Steve Wolf, senior director of racing operations at Pompano Park Harness Track, has been selected to receive the Harness Horse Youth Foundation’s (HHYF)
Service To Youth Award for 2006.

Wolf has made significant contributions to the HHYF over the last 22 years, serving as a trustee and holding the offices of president, vice president, secretary and treasurer of the organization. He also served as the New Jersey coordinator for the HHYF’s Harness Racing Youth Summer Program for 14 years. Wolf has not only shown that he understands the importance of attracting new fans, but that he is also willing to take an active role in the process.

“I truly enjoyed my tenure with HHYF and believe strongly in the mission,” Wolf said. “Just in my professional lifetime, I can actually see the fruits of our labor when I look around at some of my associates. This organization offers a wonderful beginning for those who love the racing industry. My hope is that more people continue to recognize what HHYF is accomplishing and that financial support is the key to making it all happen.”

Wolf is also very active with the Pompano Park Miniature Horse Program. The program is conducted at the racetrack and educates young people through visits to children’s hospitals, parades, school programs, fundraising and social events.

Wolf will receive the Service To Youth Award at the Harness Tracks of America Night of Champions dinner on Sunday, March 16, at the Diplomat Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Established in 1976, the Harness Horse Youth Foundation addresses youth education throughout the United States and Canada. A charitable organization, the HHYF continues to enlarge and improve its programs. For more information about the HHYF, please call the HHYF office at 317-867-5877 or visit www.hhyf.org.
