Higher And Higher equaled the world record over a five-eighth mile oval, steaming to a 1:49.2 victory in the $23,000 Mares Open/Handicap pace at Dover Downs on Tuesday.

For the second straight week, Daryl Bier drove Higher And Higher to a convincing triumph in the track’s top female event of the week. This time the winning margin was three lengths and the time equaled the world record for a 4-year-old mare set by Makerbark in 2009 at Harrah's Chester. Omen Hanover finished second.

The 1:49.2 clocking equaled the all-age track record set last season by Showherthemoney. The former track record for a 4-year-old of 1:49.4 was established by the champion Rainbow Blue in her only start at age four, winning in the Classic Series before being injured and retired.

Higher And Higher joins stablemate Fools Gold, winner of the $30,000 Preferred/Open pace Monday, as repeat winners the last two weeks. Trainer-driver Daryl Bier owns both winners with partners Glenn DelRusso and Charley Dombeck.

Corey Callahan chalked up his third winner on the program by guiding Star Keeper to a 1:52.4 victory in the $16,500 Mares Winners-Over pace. Howard Taylor, Rojan Stables and Lighting 5 Racing own the Four Starzz Shark-Mysticaliscape 4-year-old trained by Mike Hall. Docdor Libby (Ross Wolfenden) was the runner-up, with pacesetting Fleeting Flirt N (Jon Roberts) fading to third.
