Two-time World Junior Hockey gold medalist P.K. Subban will be the drawmaster for this year’s $1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup which takes place on Saturday, June 26. Subban will be on hand to assist with the post position draw on Tuesday, June 22, at Mohawk Racetrack.
The native of Rexdale, Ont. began his junior hockey career with the Belleville Bulls in the 2005-2006 season and won World Junior titles in both 2008 and 2009.
He was called up to the Montreal Canadiens in late April of this season to join them for their surprising playoff run where they knocked off the powerful Washington Capitals and defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins--thanks in large part to the strong play of Subban.
In game 3 against the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2010 Eastern Conference Finals, Subban became the third rookie defenseman in Canadiens' history to score three assists in one game.
The Pepsi North America Cup is the richest race for pacers in North America. For full details on the event, visit www.northamericacup.com.(WEG)
