The 2009 Haughton winner, Holiday Road, qualified today, Friday, June 2, at the Meadowlands. Driven by Brian Sears for trainer Greg Peck, the son of Yankee Glide left from post two. Opening up a 2-1/2  length lead by the quarter in :28.1, Holiday Road increased his lead to to 2-3/4 by the half in :57.4 and stretched that margin to seven by the three-quarters in 1:27.3. The final tally was 9-1/2  lengths as  Holiday Road sailed under the wire in 1:56.1

Holiday Road, who won three of six starts while earning $312,350 last year, is owned by Patricia Bolte, Greg Peck, Jerry Silva, Deo Volente Farms and the TLP Stable.

Freshman divisional trotting champ Lucky Chucky has trained in 1:57 and will qualify on Friday, June 11, at the Meadowlands, according to trainer and co-owner Chuck Sylvester.

"That will be the first of two qualifiers at the Meadowlands and then stay there," said Sylvester. "There will hopefully be an overnight for him and the other three year olds. After that, he'll go in the Historic on July 2. I wanted to try the Yonkers Trot (on July 3) but my partners didn't want to go on a half-mile track."

Sylvester said the Windsong's Legacy colt came through the winter well.

"He's in good shape, everything looks good with him," he said. "But he's going to need to be, there are some good ones showing themsleves now."
