Holmes prep in Big M qualie?

Western Guy won a qualifier in 1:51.2 at the Meadowlands Thursday morning with Brian Sears in the bike for trainer Jake Huff. Along with Western Guy, the next four finishers: Feelin Friskie, Western Cyclone, Mr. Thirty Two and Four Starz Stores are all eligible to the $275,000 Oliver Wendell Holmes, to be raced at the Meadowlands on Hambletonian Day Aug. 5.

Western Guy had not raced since finishing third to Jereme’s Jet in the $100,000 Meadowlands Pace consolation July 15. The Western Hanover colt is owned by Stable 45, Father And Son Stable and Rosalia Huff.
