Hoosier Cup nominee wins

Hoosier Cup probable Western Shore continued to impress when he beat older horses with a comfortable 1 ½-length victory in 1:51.4 Tuesday night at Woodbine. The 3-year-old pacing colt was making just his fourth career start.

Brittany Farms, which bred the colt, purchased an interest in the horse from owner Ron Michelon earlier this month along with trainer Erv Miller.

“Brittany bred him and sold him as a yearling for $56,000 to Ron Michelon,” said Brittany racing manager Myron Bell.

Western Shore was not eligible to the North America Cup and he is also not eligible to the Meadowlands Pace. However, he is eligible to the Little Brown Jug. He's a son of Western Hanover and Artomatic, a daughter of Artsplace and the million-dollar winning mare Delinquent Account. Artomatic is a full sister to the millionaire pacer Artiscape.
