Just A Lad and Abbey Road C both found the winner's circle Sunday afternoon at Woodbine in a pair of $55,000 second leg divisions of the Horsemen's Trotting Series.

Driven by Rick Zeron, Just A Lad went to the lead after the half in the first division and held off the rest of the field for a one-length score in 1:54.4. Zeron tipped Just A Lad first-up as the turn approached. Gaining ground while overland, Just A Lad bore down on Chip Dot Com, who passed the three-quarters in 1:26.1. Acquiring the lead in the stretch, Just A Lad held off Armbro Approach.

Just A Lad paid $7.60 and posted his 21st career victory with the score after finishing third to Chip Dot Com in the previous week's opening leg.

In rein to his conditioner, Keith Jones, Abbey Road C snapped Y Chance It's three-race win streak in the second division as he converted a pocket ride to trip the timer in 1:54.4.

Y Chance It left from post position six and cut fractions of :26.2, :56.1 and 1:25.4 but faded in the lane and finished fifth.

Abbey Road C paid $21.40 to win and scored by a length for his 29th career score.

The $116,500 (est.) final of the Horsemen's Trotting Series is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 16.
