Housethatruthbuilt parlayed a dream trip in the second heat of the Kentucky Filly Futurity final into a victory Friday afternoon at The Red Mile. Driven by Brian Sears, Housethatruthbuilt followed up her elim victory with a career-best 1:52.4 effort to take home the lion's share of the $243,000 total purse.



Invincible Dream and Ron Pierce left the quickest and set a brisk tempo, pushed on by a first-over bid by elim winner Silver Springs and George Brennan. A :27.2 opening quarter led to a :54.4 half, and around the final turn Silver Spring had had enough and began to fade.



Meanwhile, Sears was sitting golden in third with Housethatruthbuilt and around the final turn took aim at the leader. Surging to the front at the 1:24.2 three-quarters, Housethatruthbuilt had enough left down the lane to hold off a late rally by Olympics.and driver John Campbell. Bramasole finished third for Eric Ledford.



Trained by Trond Smedshammer, Housethatruthbuilt won for the fifth straight time. The daughter of Muscles Yankee is owned by Patricia Spinelli and Ted Gewertz.
