Huston recovering at home

November 16, 2005 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Roger Huston, the voice of The Meadows and the Little Brown Jug, is recovering at home after a health ailment that required him to be life-flighted to a Pittsburgh area hospital last Thursday (Nov. 10).

Huston was throwing up food Tuesday night, then throwing up blood on Wednesday. "I thought I had the flu," Huston said. But after eating tomato soup and then throwing up more blood, his daughter called 911 and he was taken to Canonsburg Hospital. There doctors determined he needed blood and he was life-flighted to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Presbyterian Hospital.

Doctors determined that Huston had a tear in his esophagus. The tear was fixed and he was released from the hospital late Monday and visited The Meadows briefly that night, but did not work in the stand. He was planning to be back in the stand on Friday night, but has a scheduled vacation he still plans to take beginning Saturday.
