December 16, 2004 Send To A Friend  | Print View

New York Jets wide receiver Wayne Chrebet was in the winner's circle at the Meadowlands Thursday night to greet his horse HZ Easy, who captured the sixth race, an $11,500 condition trot. The time was 1:55.1.

HZ Easy coasted to a 3 1/2-length victory over Striking Genius. HZ Easy, a four-year-old gelding, is trained by Kevin McDermott and was driven by Brian Sears, who picked up his fourth victory of the evening.

It was a training double for McDermott, the conditioner of Horby Hunter, who Sears also drove.

HZ Easy races in the name of Chrebet's Double Down Stables of Colts Neck, N.J. The trotter now has 10 wins and has finished in the money in 16 of 27 starts in 2004.
