In the featured $9,000 Open Trot Friday at Buffalo Raceway, reinsman Keith Kash Jr. made it to the winner’s circle for the fourth time among his five wins steering Imagianthit to his third win in a row in a season’s best time of 1:59, which is the fastest trotting mile of the year at the track.

Owned by The Inquisitive Stable Llc. of Macedonia, Ohio, the 9-year-old Giant Hit gelding came from fifth place in the field of six and passed the leaders down the backstretch for the second time. Imagianthit and Kash Jr. were first to the three-quarter pole, clocked in 1:29.1, and finished a half length ahead of Gamesmanship and driver Ken Holliday. Northmedo Victory (Kevin Cummings) came in the show spot.

“He’s really good right now,” said Kash. “Now that I’m listed as trainer, I’ve got to keep my trainer statistics higher than my weight,” he added with a laugh.

The $4,500 share of the winning purse put Imagianthit’s 2007 bankroll at $28,886 and $175,831 lifetime. Going off as the second choice in the betting, the winner paid $7.50 to win.

Megan M. Wilson and Travis D. Betters’ Inittogether took the first leg of the Dave Vance Memorial Trot in 2:04.4, going wire to wire. Friday in the second leg, driver John Cummings Jr. came from dead last in the field of eight and passed the entire field en route to a 2 ¼-length win over second-place finishers Paulie Ma Guire and driver David Brusseau in 2:02.2 over a “fast” track to register his fourth win of the year. TSM Photopia and reinsman Ron Beback Jr. came in third.

"Had to do it the hard way tonight”, said Cummings. “I learned at The Meadows that you can do anything you want with him, he’s pretty handy.”

The $2,000 share of the winning purse boosted his 2007 bankroll to $9,830 and $37,888 lifetime. Going off as the favorite in the betting, he paid $5.30 to win. Megan Wilson is the trainer.

There were two hot drivers on this mild spring night. Besides the Open Trot, Kash’s other four victories were: Shout ($7.40) in the fourth, New York Knight N ($11.60) in the fifth, Longshot Sister Sez ($32.80) in the seventh, and Mike’s A Character ($14.40) in the tenth.

Kevin Cummings was the other hot driver as he booted home four winners: JD’s Playmate ($5.20) in the first, Rose Street Doll, ($3.70) in the third, Fire Me ($6.80) in the eighth, and Bullguard ($3.80) in the finale. (Buffalo)
