Nanuets Z Tam and Neal Diamonique were both impressive winners in Friday night's second leg of the Count B Pacing Series for 3-year-old colts and geldings at Woodbine Racetrack.

Nanuets Z Tam employed first-over tactics and eventually wore down the pacesetting Silver Dragon, before holding-off a closing Pro Art to score in the first $17,000(C) split for driver Phil Hudon in 1:53.2.

It was the second win in five tries this season and a new lifetime mark for the son of Astreos-Cloudy Day, who is trained by Michael Grant for Z Tam Racing of Nanuet, N.Y.

In the second division, it was Neal Diamonique using an explosive final rally for driver Jason Brewer to haul down Classical Remedy and Whitesand MacGyver, in 1:54.1.

It was also the second win of the season for the son of Real Desire-Diamonique Mindale, who is trained by Carl Jamieson. He shares ownership with Thomas Kyron, Ricky MacPhee and Curtis Hill of Ontario.

The $45,000(C) Count B Series final will go to post next Friday night at Woodbine.

Stacer The Racer lived up to her favorite status and delivered a gutsy win in Friday night's single $18,000(C) division of the first leg of the Ontario Girls Pacing Series for 4 year olds at Woodbine Racetrack.

With Randy Waples at the helm, the daughter of Apaches Fame-Resume Speed left alertly from post two in the bulky field of 12, and was the leader at the quarter pole, reached in :27.4.

After getting a slight breather in the second quarter mile, Stacer The Racer came under heavy pressure in the third quarter from Chloe’s Silver Star, who pushed the pacesetter through three panels, in 1:27.1.

However, Stacer The Racer was unwavering on the lead and was able to hold off a gritty Chloe’s Silver Star, who finished second, with Almost A Lady rounding out the top three in the 1:56.1 mile.

The victory was the second in four outings this season for the Casie Coleman trainee, who is co-owned by Steve Calhoun and Mike Lindley of Chatham, Ont.

The Ontario Girls Series will continue next Friday night at Woodbine. (WEG)
