March 14, 2013 | Print View

I’m So Striking, a 32-1 longshot, closed along the passing lane to nip Anders Bluestone at the wire to win the $23,000 Open/Handicap trot on Wednesday, March 13 at Dover Downs.

With trainer-driver Eddie Dennis at the control, I’m So Striking, a Lois and Earl Walters and E&K Stable homebred, started from post 1 but began his ascent to the finish line from last in a field of six. Dennis steered the four-year-old altered son of So Striking-Ringside Katie to the inside and won the race to the wire with race favorite Anders Bluestone, with Ross Wolfenden, by a nose in 1:55.3, a lifetime best clocking. Major Herbie and Ron Pierce were only a neck back in third.

I’m So Striking won for the second time in 2013 to go with four seconds and a third in eight races. He has won $34,245 this year and $132,438 in his career.

Eric Carlson guided Steve Moss’ Windsun Galaxie to victory in 1:55.3 to take the $16,000 Winners-Over trot. The victory for the Leigh Raymer-trainee is the third of the year for the six-year-old son of Kadabra-Imageofaclearnight. His career earning is now 348,298 of which $27,480 have come this year. Awsome Valley (Carlo Poliseno) closed on the inside for second in front of Cash On Delivery (Vince Copeland). Tagyoureit Hanover (Ross Hanover) spent the entire mile racing for the lead and finished fourth.

In a $14,000 trot, Corey Callahan picked up his second win on the card directing Maravich home in 1:55.3. Mike Casalino and trainer Dylan Davis owns the Lockkeeper-Rompaway Ocala gelding making only his second start of the New Year. Ladainian (Allan Davis) was second with Master In Charge (Ross Wolfenden) third. Maravich has now won $150,219 in his career.

Bringing Up Lindy was another big-price payoff in a $13,000 4&5-Year-Old trot. Eddie Davis Jr. drove the Credit Winner-Bring It On Lindy mare trained by Sam Belote for owner Frank Chick to her first win of the year. Movement (Corey Braden) got up for second. Pittstop Ruthie (Eric Carlson) was the show horse.

Corey Callahan drove three winners, Ron Pierce had a double.

The Thursday headliner is a $30,000 Delaware Special led by Rusty’s All In and Mustang Art.
