Inca charges to victory

Allamerican Inca came from far back at the top of the stretch to win the third $158,700 Bluegrass division for 2-year-old colt and geldings pacers at The Red Mile Saturday afternoon. The freshman gelding, who set a world record with a 1:51.2 win at The Meadows two starts ago, won the Bluegrass by open lengths in 1:53.2.



Dave Palone was behind the son of Western Hanover, waiting patiently in the back of the pack as Eyesbold and driver Daniel Dube set the fractions. Turning for home McCabe Hall and Luc Ouellette secured the lead but they were no match for the hard-charging Allamerican Inca down the stretch. Kublai Pan and John Campbell also closed late to get second, with McCabe Hall holding for third.



Noel Daley trains the winner for Adam Victor & Son Stable. The effort was the gelding's second in four starts this year, pushing his earnings past the $120,000 mark.
