Those with horses entered in the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes 2-year-old pacing colt divisions at Harrah’s Chester on Thursday shouldn’t get too excited about racing for a six-figure purse. Incorrect purses--originally posted as $100,000 per division on the overnight transmitted to the US Trotting Association—will be corrected to approximately $24,000 per division. Pennsylvania Sire Stakes purses are expected to increase in the next several years because of revenues from slots, but none of the present projections call for racing for $100,000 per race in the Sire Stakes legs.
