Incredible Finale divisions held in Chicago

Sophomore pacing fillies were the center of attention on another cold and blustery night as Balmoral Park played host to round-two action in the Incredible Finale Series, with Elle’s Bells and Kissmeallover capturing their respective splits.

A total of 14 state-bred three-year-olds were entered for round two necessitating a split into a pair of $5,000 tussles on the one-mile oval.

In the first division, Thomas Lawinger’s Elle’s Bells came up with a sharp effort as she cruised to a one-length victory in 1:58.3.

Saving ground as last week’s winner Howbouthatsweetie (Sam Widger) carved opening splits of :29.1 and 1:00.4, driver Robert Smolin pulled Elle’s Bells from the third as the fillies moved midway around the final turn.

Drawing to within a length of the pacesetter as the field hit the three-quarter-mile mark in 1:30.4, the daughter of Sportsmaster-Cache of Rubies set sail for home. With a 25 m.p.h. wind at her back, Elle’s Bells swallowed up the 4-5 favorite at the eighth pole as she roared home in :27.3 to post her second victory of the season.

Helen’s Place Girl (Trace Tetrick) came flying late to finish a strong second while Angel Of Victory (Dave Magee) turned a ground saving trip into the third place check.

In the second division, Michael Parisi’s Kissmeallover remained perfect in this series as she posted a 3 ½-length win in 1:58.3.

Employing the same tactics as she did last week, this daughter of Sportsmaster-Redhot Express hustled right to the front from post position five for driver Mike Oosting. Despite the blowing snow making it tough for fans and drivers to see the Hart Walker-trained miss had no trouble negotiating her way through splits of :28.1, :59.4 and 1:30.1.

Fit and fresh turning for home, Kissmeallover then rattled off a :28.2 final split as she paced away from her rivals to notch her third victory of the year. Youaretheonlyone (Sam Widger) followed the winner’s every move but was forced to settle for the runner-up role on this night while 57-1 longshot Parkit Or Loseit (Randall Finn) rallied to finish third, 6 ½ lengths behind the winner.
