Incredible Reba was a credible winner in the first round of the Miss Windfall series Thursday at Hoosier Park, with the 3-year-old Electric Yankee filly opening up on the field in the stretch to win by more than two lengths over a muddy track. Guided by Joe Putnam, Incredible Reba grabbed a good spot early, following along as Skyway Happy and Trace Tetrick showed the way through the rain in times of :28.4 and :58.3. Heading for home, Skyway Happy had distanced herself from the field by five lengths, but Incredible Reba was ready to take a bite out of her dominance. Putnam placed Incredible Reba into a new gear and she cruised home for the victory in a time of 1:58. Bluebird Corvette and Jay Cross sped home for second while Skyway Happy finished a solid third. A little of a surprise to the betting public, Incredible Reba paid $15, $5.40, and $4 across the board. Her first start of the year turned out profitable for owner Dan Bowermaster and his son, Shane, who serves as the trainer for the Indiana-sired filly. The victory was her first career trip to the winner's circle after making only five starts at the age of two. The Miss Windfall series returns for round two Thursday, April 17, followed by the final, slated for Thursday, April 24. The top 10 horses with the most money earnings will be granted the opportunity to race for the final jackpot of $14,000. (Hoosier Park)
