Indian Hill Rocket returned to his winning ways at Pompano Park on Wednesday when rebounding from a minor two-race losing streak to take the featured $10,000 winners-over trot in 1:56.

Starting from post six with Kevin Wallis at the lines, Indian Hill Rocket wasted little time seizing control of the race, marching aggressively to the front on the first turn before showing the way through opening fractions of :28.3 and :59.1. As the field made its journey down the backstretch, Indian Hill Rocket continued to trot confidently on the lead while facing moderate pressure from the first-over Cisco Hall (George Napolitano Jr.) through a three-quarters split in 1:28.

Indian Hill Rocket entered the stretch with a 1 ˝-length advantage, and was never truly challenged down the lane, as the 6-year-old gelding sprinted away from his overmatched rivals in the final yards to cross the wire two lengths the best of Battleshoe Victor (Bill O’Donnell).

Indian Hill Rocket returned $8.40, $4, and $3 for the victory. Battleshoe Victor paid $5.40 and $5.60 for second, while Cisco Hall brought in $3.40 for third.

Owned by Yvette Prudenzano and Basil Kellis, and trained by Linda Wallis, Indian Hill Rocket has visited the winner’s circle six times from 10 starts this season, which matches his win total from 28 outings in 2007.

With his Wednesday victory, the son of Corleone, out of the Arnies Exchange mare Ruby Exchange, now boasts a seasonal bankroll in excess of $52,000, with career earnings of $199,784.

Driver Bruce Ranger prevailed five times on the Wednesday program from Pompano, scoring victories with Famous Mark ($4.60) in race four, Western Hurricane ($9.60) in race six, Scoot N Time ($9) in race eight, Tropical Bay ($14.80) in race nine, and Greengrass N ($7.40) in race 11.
