Inverse Hanover captures Hoosier mare feature

April 08, 2018 | Print View

Inverse Hanover and driver John DeLong found the winner’s circle for the second consecutive week at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino, this time in the featured event, a $21,000 Fillies and Mares Invitational Pace, on Saturday (April 7).

After a convincing win against conditioned company last week, Inverse Hanover responded gamely to a bump in class to stop the timer in 1:52.4 and just missed her recently established lifetime mark by two-fifths of a second.

DeLong sent Inverse Hanover away from the gate firing to grab the early lead from post five through an opening panel in :26.4. Kak’s Shark Attack and Todd Warren quickly grabbed a pocket seat while Wild Wanda and Ricky Macomber Jr. were next in line third.

Inverse Hanover clicked off fractions of :56.3 and 1:25.3 and began to distance herself from the rest of the field. Turning for home, Pistol Packin Mama and Trace Tetrick used a determined stretch rally to try to reel in the leader but Inverse Hanover was too strong.

Utilizing a :27.1 final quarter, Inverse Hanover finished nearly a length in front of Pistol Packin Mama. Ubettorbeturlife and Brandon Bates rounded out the trifecta. As the 3-5 betting favorite, Inverse Hanover returned $3.20 at the betting windows.

Trained by Jeff Cullipher, the daughter of Somebeachsomewhere-Ideal Newton recorded her fourth win of the season from five starts. Inverse Hanover has now won nine of 25 lifetime starts while increasing her lifetime bankroll to $182,980. She is owned by the partnership of Jeff Cullipher and Thomas Pollack.

Live racing will resume at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino on Tuesday (April 10) with a 10-race card. With a daily post time of 6:30 p.m., live racing at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino will follow a Tuesday through Saturday schedule and be conducted through Nov. 10.
