On Monday, the second race at Plainridge Racecourse was the second whipless race in as many weeks, with the winner Mr. Prep, trained by Mike Perpall and driven by Brad Irvine, who is partnered with Kurt Areano. The mile went in 1:56, which was two-fifths of a second off the horse's fastest mile of the year. It's a small world, in whipless races, because Mike Perpall teamed up with Brad Irvine last week and won the first whipless race. Maybe they created a new found secret for themselves and by the way, this purse was also increased an additional $500 by track mnagement. When the program was over, it turned out that this race was the second fastest race on the card and it was a $3,000 claimer. (Plainridge)
