Isle Of Patmos scores

Isle of Patmos moved to the lead at the half and held on for a three-quarter-length victory in 1:51.4 in $29,000 Open Pace for 4 year olds Saturday night at the Meadowlands.

The son of Astreos posted his second win in two starts this year, pacing to the victory over a track rated sloppy from daylong rain showers.

Jenna's Choice, who was making his first start since last April, rallied for second. It was a length to Load The Dice in third.

Isle of Patmos and Jenna's Choice are both headed into the three-week Aquarius Series at the Meadowlands, which starts on Feb. 11 and features a $79,700 final on Feb. 25.

"He'ss had some sore feet so I was a little worried about him tonight," said winning driver Eric Ledford, who was visiting the winner's circle for the eighth time in four nights. "He's a little hot and a little aggressive."

"I thought he raced really well tonight," said Rich Banca, who has trained the pacer since January. "I think when he saw Jenna's Choice in the stretch, he kept right on going. He's a good horse to be around, a good horse on the track."

Isle of Patmos, who had not raced since mid-November before his season's debut on January 28 at Freehold, went through the Tattersalls Mixed Sale at the Meadowlands on Jan. 16 and was purchased back by David Scharf of New York City for $110,000 to settle an ownership disagreement. Scharf retained a 50 percent interest and added the Lightning 5 Racing Stable of Plainview, New York; Shoot The Moon Stable of Yonkers, New York and Sawgrass Farms LLC of Lockport, Illinois, as his partners.
