Favorites claimed three of four Indiana Sires Stakes finals Friday, Oct. 6 at Indiana Downs. Undefeated JSC Merit Raise was the lone upset victim, finishing second during a night where three of the champions set or equaled lifetime best marks, including a stakes record.

Jeff and Sharon Bislich’s two-year-old trotting gelding entered the $54,100 ISS final looking to remain perfect in 10 career starts. He was handed his first defeat in the finale, narrowly falling to Atlantis Secret in 2:00.2. The winning time was a new lifetime mark for the Keep It A Secret colt, trained and driven by Doug Rideout for owners Alan White and Julie Rideout. CC Mister C was third for trainer Joe Putnam.

CC Snickers set a stakes record in the $52,200 final for trotting fillies, stopping the clock in a lifetime best 1:59. Pretty New, half of the Verlin Yoder-trained entry, finished second and long shot Enchantress K was third. Driven by Rick Farrington for trainer Steve Waller, the Harrys Star Ranger filly won by four lengths, shaving a fifth of a second off BL Sugar An Spice’s record, set in 2003.

Go On BB, sent off as the 4-5 favorite in the $61,800 final for freshman filly pacers, wired the field en route to a 1:55.1 victory for owner Frank Baldachino. The Dontgetinmyway two year old collected her sixth win in nine starts. Pat Berry handled the driving duties for trainer Mickey Burke. Missnamaras and Mark O’Mara were second and Sneaky Yankee finished third. The time equaled a lifetime best for the filly.

Electric Yankee colt Search Engine captured the $63,200 ISS final for colt and gelding pacers Friday evening with a 1:55.1 performance. The George McClarnon-owned homebred fanned five wide out of the turn for O’Mara before dashing home to collect his fourth career victory. Fun Time raced second and Gott-N-Milk completed the trifecta. Search Engine, the 8-5 bettors’ choice, is trained by Dave White.
