It's Tweedle Dum--Again!

Tweedle Dum ($2.80) extended his winning streak to seven-straight victories on Wednesday at Pompano Park, with the 6-year-old gelding scoring a half-length triumph in the $10,000 Preferred Handicap Trot--his 12th victory of the year.

Five Kids and driver Wally Hennessey shot out of the gate from post position six and took early command, but at the quarter pole, timed in :28, driver Walter Ross Jr. had Tweedle Dum on the move--and then on the lead, as usual. Tweedle Dum led the field to the half-mile marker in :57.2, and then on the backstretch Guy Gets Girl (Bruce Ranger) came first-over and challenged, but could not catch up to the leader at the three-quarter pole, reached in 1:26.4. In the stretch Hennessey tried to urge Five Kids on, but Tweedle Dum was too tough and trotted home an easy winner in 1:55.2. Five Kids held on and finished second and Talk About Me finished third.

The winningest horse at Pompano Park this year, Tweedle Dum is trained by Gordon Norris and owned by Diane Norris and Alfred Brotter.
