Veteran horseman Jack D. Parker Sr., whose sons followed him into the sport, has died after battling cancer. He was 84.
Mr. Parker followed his father, Howard, into harness racing. He raced at tracks throughout the northeast and at Pompano Park. Mr. Parker's sons Jack Parker Jr. and Howard contined the family involvement in harness racing, as well as daughter Lynne, who worked in the stable at one time and also raced horses on the New Jersey fair circuit.

In addition to his children Jack Jr., Howard and Lynne, he is survived by grandchildren Chet, Jay, Nick, Greg, and Michael; great-grandchildren Chet Jr., Stefanie, McKayla and Andrea; and numerous other relatives.
