Jack L. Bailey, son of Vernon Downs all time driving champion, Jack Bailey, died on Jan. 19, at the age of 49, after losing his battle with cancer. Bailey, who also spent time in the bike as a trainer and driver, worked for his father and at Mohawk Correctional Facility for many years. Bailey was also an avid fan of baseball, amusement parks, roller coasters, motorcycles and car races. He is survived by his wife Laura; his daughter, Sheenah of Oneida; his father and step-mother, Jack and Madeline Bailey of Vernon; his brothers and sisters, Deborah Daugherty of Fla., James Bailey of Vernon, William (Ann) Bailey of Edmeston, Jeffrey (Amy) Bailey of N.Y. Mills and Jaclyn Bailey of Vernon; his step-sister and step-brother, Debra (William) Cook of Vernon and Richard (Cindy) Ficarotta of Pa; many nieces and nephews; his in-laws, Joseph and Patricia Lomanto of Clinton and Holly (Rory) O'Connell, their son Kaden of St. Augustine, Fla. and his faithful companion, "Bella".
