Jamieson, Burgess capture Little Brown Jug

September 20, 2007 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Tell All wrapped up the 62nd Little Brown Jug in straight heats Thursday afternoon at the Delaware, Ohio fairgrounds, following up his elimination victory with a wire-to-wire 1:52 score in the second heat. Driver Jody Jamieson used the rail post position to his advantage and led at every call en route to his first-ever Jug decision. His first experience came last when he drove the popular Doonbeg.

Leaving from the inside post, Jameson forced fellow elim winner Always A Virgin and driver Brian Sears to take back, with Tim Tetrick leaving hard from post four with Southwind Lynx. But coming out of the first turn Southwind Lynx veered in and went offstride, brushing momentarily against Tell All.

As Southwind Lynx pulled back, Jamieson went on with Tell All, reaching the first station in :27 flat. Heading to the half David Miller tipped Hot Rod Mindale first-over, with Sears remaining content in the pocket with Always A Virgin. Southwind Lynx had regained his gait and followed second-over.

Tell All reached the half in :56.2 and the three-quarters in :56.2, with positions unchange. Around the final turn Sears was able to get Always A Virgin to the outside behind Hot Rod Mindale, moving three wide. But Tell All was too strong and he was able to hold off his charging rivals. He reached the wire a half length ahead of Hot Rod Mindale, with Always A Virgin third.

He was bred by Tom Crouch of Lexington, Ky.

Tell All earned $234,240 for his efforts Thursday, also earning the entire $96,000 which is reserved in case of a third-heat race-off. For the year, Tell All, who also captured the $1 million North America Cup at Mohawk in mid-June, increased his career earnings to $1,386,747. He was unraced at two by trainer Blair Burgess.
