Jody Jamieson won his 5,000th career race Wednesday afternoon at Flamboro Downs, and itt was another banner week for Woodbine's leading driver as he continues his assault on the record for driving wins in a single season. WEG’s leading driver this season racked up 11 more wins this past week to top all drivers.

Jamieson reached the 5,000 career win plateau with a victory in the final race of the afternoon at Flamboro. He entered the program two wins from the milestone, and it took until the 11th race on the card for him to notch number 4,999, with that score coming with Whippet Into Shape. He came right back in the next race to direct Lucky In Lust to a 1:58.3 victory for his 5,000th.

Fellow WEG reinsmen Randy Waples and Rick Zeron are also closing in on career milestones--Waples is nearing 5,000 wins while Zeron is on the verge of reaching 7,000.

Some hefty payouts were recorded this past week at Woodbine as well, including a $20,978.80 superfecta on the Saturday night program. The big payoff was triggered by $48.60 winner Arts Ragin Jet who just happened to be handled by Jamieson.
