Jan has all the luck at The Meadows

January 30, 2009 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Jans Luck worked out a perfect pocket trip en route to victory, her fifth in her last seven starts, in the $25,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace on Thursday at The Meadows.

Dave Palone gunned Jans Luck to the lead, but the 5-year-old daughter of Camluck-Jans Scooter was happy to yield to Spring Break, who provided escort service to the stretch. Jans Luck blew by in the Lightning Lane, downing the game Spring Break by a neck in 1:55.4. Chinatown K was a ground-saving third.

Ron Burke trains Jans Luck, who has won 17 of her 35 starts in 2008-09, for Sylvia Burke, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, JJK Stables and M1 Stable. The winner pushed her career bankroll to $567,428. (The Meadows)
