Jans Luck scores Friday feature at The Meadows

An opportunistic Jans Luck, relaxing while the leaders dueled in front of her, pounced on them around the final turn and went on to win the $25,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap pace Friday at The Meadows. The victory made Jans Luck a “half-millionaire,” giving her $508,178 in career earnings.
 
Spring Break held the early lead but withered under strong first-over pressure from Vysoke Tatry. As those two battled, Dave Palone swung the fresh Jans Luck off the pylons for a wide attack. Jans Luck prevailed in 1:53.2, 3/4 lengths better than the game Vysoke Tatry. Chinatown K rallied for third.
 
It was one of four wins on the 15-race card for Palone. Ron Burke trains Jans Luck for Sylvia Burke, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, JJK Stables and M1 Stable. The 4-year-old daughter of Camluck-Jans Scooter has recorded 13 of her 18 lifetime victories in 2008. (The Meadows)
